HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men’s golf team will return to action this week, competing in the Colin Montgomerie Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Cypress-Sweetwater Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas.
Monday’s first two rounds tee off at 8:30 a.m. with the final round set for Tuesday. Live scoring, provided by host HCU, will be accessible via the men’s golf schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
Southeastern and HCU will be two of five Southland Conference schools in the field, along with Nicholls, East Texas A&M and UIW. Houston will be represented by three individuals.
The Lions are coming off a sixth-place showing at last week’s Gulf Coast Intercollegiate. SLU is being represented this week by Viggo Hed, Preston Paulk, Colby Sullivan, Griffin Dorr and Patrick Blaum. SLU will play alongside Weber State, Missouri State and Central Michigan Monday.
Southeastern will be participating in its second tournament of 2024-25 hosted by HCU, as the Lions finished seventh at the HCU Husky Invitational last October. Hed won individual medalist honors and was joined in the top five by Dorr (T4th).
This week’s tournament will be the second of three tournaments in as many weeks for Southeastern. SLU will compete in the South Texas Match Play Monday and Tuesday in McAllen, Texas.
