BROOKS RECEIVING MORE HELP WITH HIS GOLF SCHOLARSHIP, WHEN THE NOLAN SMITH FOUNDATION STEPPED UP AND PAID THE REMAINING HALF OF THE SCHOLARSHIP. NOLAN SMITH ALWAYS GIVING BACK TO THE 9-1-2 AND LOOKING FORWARD TO BROOKS SHINING FOR HIS HOMETOWN COLLEGE.

Savannah native taking education and golf skills to the next level

Quentin Brooks made history Wednesday morning at Bethesda Academy, becoming the first Blazer to sign a scholarship to play college golf.Brooks, who developed his game through Savannah’s First Tee program, will stay close to home as he furthers his academic and athletic career at Savannah State University.“You know, all the hard work and dedication I put into this game — all the support I’ve had from the First Tee, from my mentors, all of them — it means that I’m finally getting to play college golf and do what I love for the next couple of years,” Brooks said. “Savannah State is a great school, great campus. Being here with my mentors, my family, my coaches — I get to use all the resources I’ve had through high school. So, it means a lot.”Brooks’ path to college golf got an additional boost just weeks ago when the Nolan Smith Foundation stepped in to pay the remaining half of his scholarship.With a strong support system and a growing legacy, Brooks is teeing off on a new chapter — one that’s already inspiring future student-athletes at Bethesda and beyond.
