With the 2025 PGA Championship heavy on the minds of the game’s brightest stars, the $20 million purse offered at the 2025 Truist Championship gives golf’s best plenty of reason to locked in across the final 36 holes at Philadelphia Cricket Club over the weekend. Two of the most recent PGA Tour winners certainly hope Moving Day lives up to its name as Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas — opening Saturday’s third round five strokes off leader Keith Mitchell — will have every opportunity to put their stamp on the course and add another check to their win column.
Mitchell went low with an incredible 61 to open play, but while his advantage has been cut to one with Shane Lowry sitting in solo second, Mitchell neverthless commands the leaderboard with two rounds remaining. Sepp Straka, Collin Morikawa, Akshay Bhatia, Si Woo Kim, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa and Rickie Fowler all sit within striking distance; whether they can claim as much after the third round certainly remains to be seen.Β
