COMMUNITY News:

SANTA ANA PUEBLO — AMERIND, the country’s only 100 percent Tribally owned insurance carrier, has announced that the 20th Annual AMERIND Golf Fundraiser has raised over $120,000 to benefit Native communities and families across the United States.

Funds raised through the Golf Fundraiser will support the AMERIND Protecting Tribal Families Fund and the Keres Children’s Learning Center (KCLC).

The AMERIND Protecting Tribal Families Fund was developed to assist Native American families who do not have homeowners’ insurance and have experienced a devastating loss or unforeseen disaster. Since 2004, the fund has raised more than $700,000.

This year’s honorary beneficiary, the Keres Children’s Learning Center (KCLC), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides an opportunity for children to learn through their heritage language of Keres while simultaneously accessing an academic curriculum that challenges their intellect and values their whole being.

“As the only 100 percent Tribally owned insurance carrier, our dedication extends beyond merely providing insurance to tribes,” Derek Valdo said, Chief Executive Officer. “We are deeply committed to giving back to the communities we serve!”

“We would like to thank AMERIND for allowing us to be a part of the 20th Annual Protecting Tribal Families Golf Fundraiser. Your valued partnership is greatly appreciated,” Dr. Curtis Chavez said, CEO and Director of Advancement at KCLC. “The funds raised will support the children, families, and Cochiti Pueblo in an effort to revitalize the Keres language. We would also like to thank all our sponsors and golfers. Without you the wonderful fundraiser could have not happened. May you all be blessed in return.”

AMERIND will continue the tradition of giving back next year, with the 21st Annual Golf Fundraiser set for Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Santa Ana Golf Club, Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.

AMERIND creates affordable, sustainable insurance products and services for Indian Country. Founded in 1986, it is the only 100 percent Tribally owned insurance carrier and has earned the A- (Excellent) rating from AM Best. For more information, visit AMERIND.com.
