The 3rd Santiago Cua Golf Cup: A Successful Day at South Pacific Golf

​The morning air was crisp and expectant at the South Pacific Golf course as 140 enthusiastic participants gathered for the highly anticipated 3rd Santiago Cua Golf Cup.

​The day began promptly with the customary ceremonial tee-off, setting a joyful and energized tone for the competition. Chairman Santiago Cua Sr., alongside Vicente “Enteng” Santos of Sta. Lucia Realty officially launched the event with their precise drives to the delight of the waiting caddies at the fairway that scrambled for the priced golf balls. Their enthusiasm was a testament to the community spirit of the Cup.

With warm, perfect golf weather blessing the course, the game commenced precisely on time with a simultaneous start via shotgun format, sending over 140 participants to their respective tees across the course.

​When the final scorecards were tallied, Benhur Villarosa was crowned as the Overall Gross Champion, navigating the course with his 51 Molave points. Meanwhile, Ian Maningo secured the coveted title of Overall Net Champion, showcasing remarkable consistency and play with his net 65 points.

​As the golfers transitioned from the fairways to the South Pacific Golf clubhouse for the awards program, Golf Director Tommy Inigo was visibly delighted with the turnout and offered sincere gratitude for the tremendous support from Davao golfers and the valued sponsors whose contributions made the event possible. ​

​​It was only during this awarding ceremony, as the victors were receiving their accolades, that the skies finally decided to open up. The rain started to pour, a symbolic curtain call to a day of successful competition and camaraderie, sending a welcome chill through the warm atmosphere of the clubhouse.
