Jamaica Cook and Carpinteria High girls golf capped off the regular season with a third-place finish in the final Citrus Coast League match on Thursday at Seabee Golf Course in Port Hueneme.
Cook captured her second straight Citrus Coast League MVP honor after earning medalist honors in all but one league match this season.
β[Cookβs] teammates and I couldnβt be more proud of her accomplishments,β Warrior head coach Craig Cook said. βBut what really sets Jamaica apart is her great attitude and her drive to succeed.β
As for Carpinteria as a team, it combined for a team score of 277 and finished behind Nordhoff (264) and Hueneme (268) on the par-37 course.
Cook led the charge for the Warriors by carding a 47, ending her 10-match medalist streak but rounding out a stellar senior league campaign.
She was followed by Sophia Garay (52), Kiana Kiah (56), Sarah Hayman (59) and Gaby Cruz (65).
As the top player in the Citrus Coast League, Cook punched her ticket to the CIF-SS Northern Individual Tournament on Monday at River Ridge Golf Course.
