Casey eyes a legacy moment at Link Hong Kong Open

The 48-year-old is bringing with him not just world-class form, but a deep appreciation for the city, the fans, and the historic venue in Fanling that hosts the Link Hong Kong Open.

But for Casey, returning to Hong Kong is about more than just competition.

“There are almost too many things to list about what I enjoy the Hong Kong schedule! First, we all know what a fantastic golf course this is, it’s one of the greats. But Hong Kong as a city is just incredible. To me, it’s probably the most energetic city in the world, the vibrance, the passion for everything, whether it’s food, culture, or life in general. This is where it’s at.

“But for me, it always comes down to the people. The history of this tournament is amazing, and we’re playing for a prestigious trophy this week, but without the fans who turn up and bring that energy, it wouldn’t be the same. I’ve experienced that for over 20 years now, my first visit was a long time ago because I’m older than some of these guys! I love coming back because of the friendships and relationships we’ve built over the years.

“This week is going to be a great event, and as players, we just hope they don’t go with that treacherous front-right pin position they love to use! But we’ll enjoy the challenge. I’m really looking forward to relishing my week here.”

With his experience, form, and passion for the venue, Casey is not just a contender, he’s a player to watch closely as the Link Hong Kong Open unfolds at one of Asia’s most iconic golf destinations.
