Golf roundup: Cadence Simon earns runner-up finish in Alex girls team’s 2nd place finish in Cold Spring – Alexandria Echo Press

Alexandria’s Cadence Simon took second in a Central Lakes Conference meet at Rich Spring Golf Course in Cold Spring on Monday.

Simon finished with a round of 81 (9-over par), carding 10 pars.

Joining Simon in the top 10 was Alexandria’s Mattea LeClair, who tied for eighth. LeClair had a birdie and five pars in her round of 87 (15-over par).

Alexandria took second with a score of 358. Willmar won the team title with a score of 353.

Sartell’s Gwen Latunski won the individual title with a round of 76 (4-over par).

Nyberg leads Alex boys in Brainerd

Alexandria’s Weston Nyberg shot even par (71) in a boys Central Lakes Conference Meet at Cragun’s Legacy Courses in Brainerd to place fourth on Monday.

Nyberg carded three birdies and 12 pars on Monday.

Alexandria’s Carver Larson tied for seventh (74, 3-over par), with two birdies and 11 pars in his round.

Brainerd’s Alex Imgrund won the medalist honor with a round of 69 (2-under par).

Detroit Lakes won the team title with a score of 294, one stroke ahead of Brainerd (295). Alexandria placed third with a score of 303.

Ayla Larson leads ACCS in Monday meet at AGC

Ayla Larson led the Alexandria Community Christian School girls golf team in a Quad County Meet at the Alexandria Golf Club on Monday.

Larson placed third with a round of 90 (18-over par) with four pars.

Veronica Johnson led Ashby-Brandon-Evansville with an eighth-place finish (108, 36-over par).

Border West’s Paige Beyer won the medalist honor with a round of 86 (14-over par).

In the boys meet, Traeton Nelson led A-B-E with a round of 88 (17-over par) to place eighth.

ACCS’s Eli Kuhnau tied for 10th (90).

Ottertail Central’s Logan Kostelecky and Underwood’s John Gronner tied for first with rounds of 83 (12-over par).

The Osakis boys team took 13th place at the Pre-Section 6-2A Meet at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club in Sartell on Monday with a team score of 400.

Kolbe Kral tied for 42nd (92) to lead Osakis.

St. Cloud Cathedral’s Luke Herker won the medal honor with a round of even par (72).

Staples-Motley won the team title with a score of 315.
