Howell and Holbrook Named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The 2024-25 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team was announced on Monday afternoon and among the 1,499 women’s collegiate golfers recognized included Kayla Howell ’26 and Mia Holbrook ’27 of the Wesleyan women’s golf team.

Howell and Holbrook earn the distinction for the first time in their respective careers. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team includes an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, earn a varsity letter for the 2024-25 season, and have played in 50% of the team’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team’s conference championship.
 
Holbrook sports a cumulative 3.885 GPA through the end of her sophomore year and is an Economics and Psychology double major. Howell has a 3.573 GPA entering her senior year in 2025-26 and is double majoring in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
 
Both Howell and Holbrook shined at the NESCAC Championship with Holbrook finishing second overall with a +7 through the three-round tournament while Howell finished in a tie for 11th place, shooting 75-74 across the final two rounds to move up over 20 spots on the player leaderboard.
