Men’s Golf Puts Three on Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars List

NORMAN, Okla. — Three UNT men’s golfers were recognized as 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, it was announced Tuesday.

Dawson Meek, Joe Stover and James Tureskis were all selected as All-America Scholars for the first time after meeting the athletic and academic criteria laid out by Cobalt Golf. Student-athletes must have participated in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, while posting a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career GPA of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Tureskis wrapped up his collegiate career in the spring, playing his final season at UNT where he played in nine events and posted a scoring average of 73.56, which was the second best on the team. Meek, another senior, played in eight of the team’s 11 tournaments, while recording a 73.86 average on the season.

Stover is back for another season with the Mean Green following a sophomore campaign that saw him post a 74.61 scoring average and collect four top-30 finishes.
