CRESWELL, Ore. – The 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Men’s Golf Championship will be played at Emerald Valley Golf Club (par-72, 7,210 yards) in Creswell, Oregon, from Friday, April 25, to Sunday, April 27.
All 11 Mountain West teams will participate in the 54-hole championship, which will see the squads play 18 holes each day, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. PT on Friday and at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Entering the championship, five MW programs are ranked in the top 100 nationally and another three are just outside. San Diego State leads the way at No. 16, followed by UNLV at No. 35 and New Mexico at No. 47. Colorado State is No. 52 and San José State is No. 98, while Wyoming (No. 105), Boise State (No. 106) and Fresno State (No. 109) are not far behind.
Individually, four Mountain West golfers rank inside the top 100 nationally, led by UNLV’s Caden Fioroni at No. 22. San Diego State’s Justin Hastings, who was the low amateur at The Masters two weeks ago, is No. 34. UNLV’s Zach Little checks in at No. 78 and SDSU’s Chanachon Chokprajakchat is No. 85.
San Diego State is the three-time defending team champion and has won six titles overall. The Aztecs, who claimed the 2024 title in a one-hole playoff over New Mexico, are seeking to become just the second team to win four straight MW titles, a feat previously accomplished by New Mexico from 2003-06.
The Lobos have won a league-record eight titles, with the last one coming in 2021. UNLV has won five MW crowns (last in 2018), while Colorado State has won two (last in 2010).
Boise State junior Cole Rueck is the defending individual champion. Rueck, who shot a 7-under-par 209 to win the 2024 edition of the tournament, is seeking to become the first two-time winner in MW history.
All told, four players who finished inside the top 10 at the 2024 MW Championship are back in the field this season, with New Mexico’s Carson Herron joining Rueck, Fioroni and Hastings.
Emerald Valley is hosting the MW Men’s Golf Championship for the second straight season. The event has been held in Oregon seven times previously, as it took place at the Crosswater Club in Sunriver, Oregon, from 2001-06.
